New Eating Disorder Group
This group is designed for women who are struggling with binge eating disorder (BED) and feel they may be addicted to certain foods-especially sugars and refined carbohydrates which can cause cravings.
This weekly group will focus on a combination of empirically supported treatment methods currently used in the treatment of substance addiction: cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction and meditation. Participants will learn tools and coping strategies to identify and address means for overcoming cravings, triggers, and other influences that precede addictive binge eating behaviors in order to adopt a healthier lifestyle with appropriate eating. The group will help participants develop strategies and tools to deal with everyday challenges.
