Harm Reduction Therapy Group
Now Enrolling
Harm reduction is an informative and transformative approach to working with individuals with problematic and high-risk alcohol and substance use behaviors, aimed at reducing negative consequences of this use. This group is offered to all, with a unique opportunity to receive multiple perspectives, support, encouragement, and feedback from others in a safe and confidential environment.
Members will explore how substance use and other problematic behaviors may be associated with personal and social/relational factors. Members will develop individual goals (which may include abstinence) and work towards optimal relationships with substances and other behaviors. Group discussions will also focus on assessing harm and processing feelings of ambivalence about making changes. Group members will better understand themselves and what might be underlying their behaviors while also developing practical skills to manage the urges and cravings driving their behaviors.
