Christi Meyer is a nationally board certified and state licensed creative arts therapist. She has practiced art therapy within a variety of settings in New York City since 2009, working with veterans, LGBTQ, adults and young adults with mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. Christi incorporates Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, breathing techniques, and guided imagery into her art therapy practice to help clients.

Christi attended Pepperdine University and received a BA in Art and BA in Psychology. She continued her education at New York University and received a Master’s in Art Therapy. She has also studied art at SACI College of Art and Design in Florence, Italy, and HIV Prevention and Counseling at University of London in England.

Freedom Institute Art Therapy takes place twice per month in the Morning Intensive Outpatient Program. Christi also provides art therapy in homeless shelters and private practice.
